50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 as black camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
