In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
