Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
