Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About the criminals, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
