The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
