The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite - give them some time. 17
