And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
