Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
