The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
