Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
