The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Hallowed is He who from on high, step by step, has bestowed upon His servant the standard by which to discern the true from the false, so that to all the world it might be a warning: 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: no son has He begotten, nor has He a partner in His dominion: it is He who created all things, and ordered them in due proportions. 2 And they have taken beside Him gods creating not aught and are themselves created, owning for themselves neither hurt nor benefit, and owning not death nor life nor resurrection. 3 Those who deny the truth say, "This is only a forgery of his own invention in which others have helped him." What they say is unjust and false. 4 And they say: The stories of the ancients-- he has got them written-- so these are read out to him morning and evening. 5 Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind." 6 But they say: "What sort of prophet is this who eats food and walks the market places? Why was no angel sent to him to act as admonisher with him? 7 "Or (why) has not a treasure been granted to him, or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?" And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) say: "You follow none but a man bewitched." 8 See how they coin similitudes for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path. 9
