The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
