Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
