Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
