And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
