Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HaMeem 1 'Ain-Sin-Qaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 2 Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee,- Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. 3 To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. He is the High, the Exalted. 4 The heavens wellnigh are rent above them, when the angels proclaim the praise of their Lord, and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Surely God -- He is the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate. 5 God is the guardian of even those who have chosen others (idols) besides Him as their guardians (Muhammad), you will not have to answer for them. 6 And thus We have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayst warn the mother-town and those around it, and mayst warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame. 7 And if Allah had pleased He would surely have made them a single community, but He makes whom He pleases enter into His mercy, and the unjust it is that shall have no guardian or helper. 8 Or have they taken to themselves guardians other than Him? But Allah, He is the Guardian. He revives the dead and has power over all things. 9
