Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 and the smooth runners 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
