The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
