Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
