Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
