۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
