And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
