The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 you pay attention 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
