Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humans, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 running away from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
