The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
