The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
