▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
