Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
