The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills - the Lord of the Creation. 29
