The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a great day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
