To whoever We give a long life We make him stoop. Do they not understand? 68 AND [thus it is:] We have not imparted to this [Prophet the gift of] poetry, nor would [poetry] have suited this [message]: it is but a reminder and a [divine] discourse, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth, 69 That it may warn him who would have life, and (that) the word may prove true against the unbelievers. 70 Did they not see that We have created animals for them from Our handiwork, so they are their owners? 71 And have subdued them unto them, so that some of them they have for riding, some for food? 72 And therein they have advantages and drinks; will they not then be grateful? 73 And they have appointed Gods other than Allah, that perhaps they may be helped! 74 They have not the power to help them: but they will be brought up (before Our Judgment-seat) as a troop (to be condemned). 75 So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare. 76 Does not man see We created him from a drop of semen? Even then he becomes an open contender, 77 And he strikes out a likeness for Us and forgets his own creation. Says he: Who will give life to the bones when they are rotten? 78 Say, "He who brought them into being in the first instance will give them life again: He has knowledge of every type of creation: 79 Who hath appointed for you fire from the green tree, and behold! ye kindle from it. 80 Is He who created the heavens and earth not able to create others like these people? Of course He is! He is indeed the Supreme Creator, the All Knowing: 81 His command, when He intends anything, is only to say to it: Be, so it is. 82 So glory be to Him, in whose hand is the dominion of everything, and unto whom you shall be returned. 83
