And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
