Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
