Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; 1 And the moon when it follows the sun, 2 The day when it reveals his radiance, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 And [by] the sky and He who constructed it 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 And given the faculty of knowing what is disruptive and what is intrinsic to it. 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof. 15

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
