The tree of al-Zaqqum 43 is food for the sinner. 44 It is like pitch. It will fume in the belly 45 like the boiling of burning despair. 46 [It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire, 47 Then pour above his head of the torment of the boiling water: 48 "Taste it," (they will be told). "You were indeed the mighty and noble! 49 This is the very thing which you [deniers of the truth] were wont to call in question!" 50 Surely those who guard (against evil) are in a secure place, 51 Within gardens and springs, 52 Attired in silk and brocade, they shall be arrayed face to face. 53 So (it will be), and We shall marry them to Houris (female fair ones) with wide, lovely eyes. 54 There in security, they will call for every kind of fruit. 55 They will not taste death therein, save the first death. God will save them from the torment of Hell 56 as a favour from your Lord. That is the great triumph. 57 THUS, THEN, [O Prophet,] have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own [human] tongue, so that men might take it to heart. 58 So you wait. They are also waiting. 59
