The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
