He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 For him who does not care, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and fearfully, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
