The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
