The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
