The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens and fountains. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
