In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 [All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! 11
