۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
