Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
