Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
