Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
