The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the Promised Day! 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
