The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
