Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
