The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
