Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Unto those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We [now] relate unto thee - there had indeed come apostles of their own with all evidence of the truth; but they would not believe in anything to which they had once given the lie: thus it is that God seals the hearts of those who deny the truth; 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 103 And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
